• Better Azure Identity authentication support and performance during local development with .NET Aspire (Anthony Simmon) - A cool demo/tutorial with all the code snippets and explanations.

Programming

• dotnet scaffold - Next Generation Content Creation for .NET - .NET Blog (Sayed Ibrahim Hashimi) - Yay! Scaffolding CLI and it looks well done too! It's time to try it and if you are interested it's an OSS project.

• Making you more productive with Visual Studio v17.12 - Visual Studio Blog (Mads Kristensen) - Mad's blog post are always synonym of fun and happiness as it means Visual Studio has new cool features that ease or day and make us more productive. I love that that simple copy error message one.

• The Builder Pattern in C# [2024] - This is a very nice post that explains clearly with code different scenarios where that pattern would make sense.

• OpenAPI document generation in .NET 9 (Mike Kistler) - This is a great new feature in NET9 when building APIs. The post shares how to update existing APIs to get it. I'm looking forward to migrating my stuff.

Podcasts

• 435: GitHub Universe Recap + M4 is here with a NEW Mac mini!!! (Merge Conflict) - Cool summary and nice news for iOS user about xCode.

• How to prepare for a nerve-wracking presentation (Modern Mentor) - Good strategies for new or experienced speakers.

• What is the difference between the Azure Command Line Interface and Azure Developer Command Line Interface? (Liam Conroy Hampton) - I keep telling myself I should give it a try. That new AZD CLI seems pretty sick. No more excuses for my next project.

• Azure OpenAI Landing Zone reference architecture (Freddy Ayala) - Using Open AI or planning to do it this post shares a great list of Azure services that will help you do it effectively and securely.

Low Code

• Power Automate Apply To Each Loops 20X Faster (Matthew Devaney) - Smart way to gain performance, but make sure to do your homework and validate the connector limits and adjust the variables.

Data

• Learn about Microsoft Fabric for Data Analytics (Koen Verbeeck) - Learn more about this new one-stop service that was announced during Microsoft Build.

• Migrate ASP.NET Web App to Azure App Service (Justin Yoo) - This great post shows and explains the very few changes suggested to migrate our .NET website into Azure.

Programming

• Minimal API growing with .NET 7 (Christian Nagel) - Ooh! That looks really nice! I will need to play around a little with it to fully appreciate all and I have just the right project for it.

• Visual Studio–Generate C# client for OpenAPI (Bart Wullems) - Interesting post that explains what is happening behind the scene of the OpenAPI client generator.

• Web API development in Visual Studio 2022 - Visual Studio Blog (Sayed Ibrahim) - Wow! You have the choice of that super detailed post with all the new features to help us be fantastic at creating APIs or also included in the post the video with a similar overview.

• Episode 172: Maintainer Month 2023 with Sarah Boyce & David Blass (Sustain) - Special double episode for the Maintainer Month.
• Donovan Brown is Retiring - Episode 242 (Azure DevOps Podcast) - Whatever Donovan is talking about you can feel his passion. Extremely interesting episode. Enjoy your new challenge sir!
• 356: Sunsetting software, libraries, & APIs (Merge Conflict) - You build stuff? Great, but what do you do after, when do you know when it is time to retire an API or a service? James & Frank might not have all the responses, but they definitely feel the problem.
• 56. Building Drabble.social using Azure PaaS - Bram de Buyser (Betatalks the podcast) - Great episode! What a challenge. It takes only a few seconds to create an account ;)
• Can You Really Convert Podcast Fans Into Active Subscribers? (Feed Your Brand) - So many great tips in this episode. By looking at the type of email I receive... many should listen to it.
• Creating Walkable Cities with Nathan Allebach (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - What do you think when you read walkable? Was it what was discussed in this episode? Strange how something great ideas are derailed without any bad intentions.

• Master Power Apps Do Until Loops for Efficient Workflow Management (and Unleash Your Inner Nerd) 🤓 (Shane Young) - Funny and educational tutorial about a very powerful tool indeed.

• Announcing the Azure Identity 2.0 client library and plugin packages for JavaScript (Will) - Very nice update for the SDK that will be used with popular tools.

• General Availability of Azure Functions OpenAPI Extension (Justin Yoo) - What!? one year already and GA is on top of it. Wonderful.

• Is it time to start creating C# Azure Functions in isolated mode? (Mark Heath) - Nice post about the different options today and in the future.

• What is Cloud-Native? Is It Hype or The Future of Software Development? (Thorben Janssen) - My 2 cents, it's so much more than a heap. Excellent post that cover all the angles.

Programming

• Implicit Usings in .NET 6 (Scott Hanselman) - Ok yes, it's a cool feature to get started... BUT it's the first best practice you learn in VB (yes I remember Scott) do not use implicit... So fun, but that's it.

• 5 Reasons Why You Should use a DevTool (Michelle Pruit) - Yes, indeed and it is worth spending money on them to not be limited or blocked because you are using the free version or something.

• 7 unique software collaboration features in GitHub Discussions (Evi Liu) - I started using GitHub discussion while streaming and loved it. I was curious to learn different scenarios where there is also a benefit.

• Announcing ASP.NET Core in .NET 6 (Daniel Roth) - I've not been coding for a little while now, first thing on my to-do is to upgrade to.NET 6 my projects.

• [Cake v2.0.0 RC 1 released](Pascal Berger) (https://cakebuild.net/blog/2021/11/cake-v2.0.0-rc0001-released) - A great new version, and important notification of retirement. I should do a tour of my flows/ pipeline to avoid bad surprises.

• I made Squid Game with JavaScript (Shuvo) - I love it! Great post that shows us all the code used in this cool demo. There is also a short video to see the final game.

• Publishing Events from CRUD or Commands? (Derek Comartin) - Nice post/video about event-driven architecture.

• Should Controllers Reference Repositories or Services (Steve) - Very interesting dive into the layers of an application. There are reasons for different architectures.

• Shrink your WSL2 Virtual Disks and Docker Images and Reclaim Disk Space (Scott Hanselman) - Wonderful tips from Scott. To get back that pure performance of a clean dev environment.

Miscellaneous

• After Microsoft Ignite, keep the learning momentum going (Jeff Sandquist) - Very happy to see this news being public.

• How to get Windows 11 (John Cable) - It's out now and honestly, it is great! If you didn't get the automatic upgrade maybe it's because you don't meet the requirement. Following the steps, it could be a simple checkbox to check-in your current version.

• Introduction to GitHub Actions for .Net Developers (Dave Murray) - I'm not sure why but I always felt called by automation. Maybe because it's the ultimate proactivity of any task.GitHub Action is one of those extremely powerful tools that are worth your attention.

• How to Calculate Azure Blob Container Size (Mark Heath) - Nice little code snippet.

• Top 6 tips for configuring a new Microsoft Azure environment ( Sonia Cuff) - This is stupid simple as they say and it will make a big difference further down the road. They are no reason to not do it.

Programming

• Looking inside ConfigurationManager in .NET 6: Exploring .NET Core 6 - Part 1 (Andrew Lock) - Such a nice integration, cleaner and more efficient.

• Dapr v1.4 is now available (Dapr project maintainers) - New updates on this loved library. This post also shares get-started resources.

• Schedule Your Tasks Like A Pro in Blazor Applications (Alan Sangeeth) - I love Syncfusion controls and each time is always hard. Nice post.

• Open-source HTTP API packages and tools (Brady Gaster) - Excellent tutorial, second post of a series. It's definitely a great place to get started.

• Save the Date for .NET Conf: Focus on Windows, February 25, 2021 (Katie Akrop DeSantis) - Looking forward to this event. Thursday the 25th.

• Creating Discoverable HTTP APIs with ASP.NET Core 5 Web API | ASP.NET Blog (Brady Gaster) - An extremely complete tutorial to learn more about API.

When we start a journey we don't know most of the time where our decisions will bring us. Therefore it's always frightening to take risks, but with time and effort... grandiose thing can appends

• Containers on Azure with Tom Kerkhove (.NET Rocks!) - What a great episode! And it's so true there is so many ways "to do your containers" ( like in a recipe )

• Épisode 87 - La sécurité des coureuses (Grand écart) - Sometimes I feel so ashamed to be a man... I know I'm doing it right, but I need to do more... for the others that forgot that we are all equal.

• 633 - How to Use Rejection to Your Advantage (Modern Mentor) - In our lives, we will encounter many nos or rejection. This episode talks about how you could use those detours to learn more, and transform them in opportunities.

• 101: Windows Virtual Desktop with Travis Roberts (CloudSkills.fm) - I remember when "infra" people couldn't see anything positive about the cloud... Times as changed a lot. There are so many opportunities.

• The myth of turning your hobby into a job with writer Aley Arion (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - Is it a myth or a reality? I totally think it's possible. But yeah in all the amazing love (or adventure) movies there are always some challenges. But happy 95% of the time.. I take that!

• Deploying Azure Functions with the Azure CLI (Mark Heath) - This is a nice tutorial that explains all the step to great your setup with Functions.
• Four ways to take your apps further with cloud, data, and AI solutions from Microsoft (Frederico Pravatta Rezende) - A very interesting post that provides an easy checkbox list of actions we can do to improve our solution.
• How to set up a Let's Encrypt SSL Cert for Azure Web App with Linux in 5 steps (Jessica Deen) - Very useful tutorial to switch our webapp to https.

• Creating Web Pages with Blazor ( Peter Vogel) - This post is definitely a good place to get started with Blazor.
• Load your work items into Azure DevOps Boards with .NET (Jeremy Lindsay) - A project to follow very interesting tutorial that explains how this migration tool was built.
• Continuous Integration (David Posin, Paul Duvall) - This is the chapter 1 of a book. It covers all aspects of a CI, really Really interesting.
• Converting OpenAPI specs to Postman collections (Abhijit Kane) - Oooooh that's awesome... I really need to try this new import feature.
• New year, new GitHub: Announcing unlimited free private repos and unified Enterprise offering (Nat Friedman) - Awesome news! So happy about that!
• VS Code: Now creating pull requests (Meaghan Lewis) - Another must have extension I think...

Miscellaneous

• Relationship Hacks: Playing video games and having hobbies while avoiding resentment (Scott Hanselman) - It's always such a pleasure to read those post full of wisdom. It gives us a windows to see how others are doing and ideas on how to improve.

• #LogicApps – Introduction and main differences with Microsoft Flow #MSFlow | El Bruno on WordPress.com (El Bruno) - Great post that gives a very clear view of the differences... Now I have a post to refer to when people are asking me that.
• .NET Rocks! Azure Event Grid with Dan Rosanova (Carl Franklin, Richard Campbell) - I really liked that episode with Dan. It was nice listening to him talking an making reference to Biztalk and Logic App.
• Azure Functions and Lazy Initialization with Couchbase Server (Matthew Groves) - Nice hack, that could potentially save a lot of initialization if the function is called often.
• Azure Tips and Tricks Part 20 - Working with Files in Azure App Service (Michael Crump) - I'm always impressed by how many people don't know Kudu. Well, if it's your case, this post is for you... at least to get started.
• How to import a Postman collection into your Azure API Management – SANDRO PEREIRA BIZTALK BLOG (Sandro Pereira) - Pretty useful tips that import process.

Programming

• OpenAPI is not what I thought (Darrel Miller ) - I hear you my friend, loud and clear. Let's use OpenAPI the way it should be. Very interesting post for an inside man sharing his thoughts about the purpose of the tool.
• Serverless and Auth0 Webtasks, hop on the bullet train (Glenn Block) - Cool tool in the Node.js world.
• What is a Default Parameter in a JavaScript function? | Dhananjay Kumar on WordPress.com (Dhananjay Kumar) - Aaaah Javascript so powerful but at the same time so demanding.
• What would a cross-platform .NET UI Framework look like? Exploring Avalonia (Scott Hanselman) - I didn't know where WPF came from, and it's interesting to see the open-source project inspired other projects and to see that they continue to evolve.
